HOW YOUR NEEDS DRIVES YOU

Most people confuse WANTS WITH NEEDS, there is a difference between them

The Five Basics needs we all born with are:

1) SURVIVAL

The most urgent and essential need, what we do to stay alive: eat, sleep, find shelter, most be met before we can focus on our other needs. When survival is threatened, every need become secondary or unimportant.

2) LOVE/BELONGING

Demonstrated by relationship we build with other and even pets.

It is fulfilled through:

  • Family relationship
  • Social relationship
  • Work relationship

3) FUN

What makes us happy and gives us pleasure, fulfilled in different ways by each individual.

4) FREEDOM

The ability to choose where to be and where to go. The feeling that we are not confined by boundaries.

5) POWER

Feeling worthwhile, Feeling in control of our lives.

These five basics human needs determine the choices we make everyday and how we make it.
From eating to driving behaviors, understanding these needs and how we meet them can help us make better choices when we have to do anything.

Since the way you understand these five basics needs and how you react one or all of them is on jeopardy, we have to look at the outcome of your behavior (reactions after thinking feeling it)

THE FOUR COMPONENTS OF BEHAVIOR

Human behavior is made up of four components:

  1. THINKING
  2. FEELING
  3. DOING
  4. BODILY REACTIONS

THINKING:

Is when the seed is planted in your mind, it is the embryo, no one but you knows about it, and still under your control.

FEELING:

If you keep thinking about the same subject over and over again, you will start to feel physical sensation, you see, your brain does not know the difference between fantasy and reality, and still under your control even though you are having a physical reactions by thinking about it.

DOING:

By acting upon your thinking and feeling, you put both into the physical realm, good or bad, is not longer under your control and not longer a secret.

BODILY REACTIONS

It is the visceral, symbiotic experience, is the adrenal dump, it makes you react, it is the blue print of your behavior, good or bad, stupid or wise.

Just think of these 4 components of behavior as they work together just like the four wheels of a car: doing and thinking as the front wheels, needs as the motor, wants as the steering wheel, feelings and bodily reactions (Physiology) as the back wheels.

Understand: the way we think and what we do (DOING) direct our BEHAVIOR, just as the front wheels of the car determine the direction in which the car  travels to.

Remember: We have control over only one of these four components: DOING (The materialization of thinking, feeling) You can thing as much you want, you can feel it, but once you act upon it is like an atomic bomb; it was ok when it was just a thought.

Since you can control the DOING which determine you behavior, lets take a look at the three types of behavior to choose from:

  1. INEFFECTIVE BEHAVIOR
Which usually makes matter worse and are often unrealistic unsatisfying or irresponsible.
For example; kicking a flat tire because you are upset.

   2. SHORT TERM BEHAVIORS
Which usually serve as QUICK FIX. These choices may make things better for the time being
just like a duck tape around a broken pipe; soon it will burst out of control, but they wont
help you to get what you want in the long run.

  3. EFFECTIVE BEHAVIORS
Will help you get what you want in a responsible, realistic and right/legal way.

HOW DO YOU KNOW IF YOU ARE MAKING AN EFFECTIVE BEHAVIOR CHOICE?
YOU ASK YOURSELF THESE THREE QUESTIONS:

1) IS IT RESPONSIBLE?
As a social creature, you deal with people on daily basis, your responsible behavior lets you meet your needs without keeping others from meeting their own. It helps you get what you desire while adjusting and respecting the rights of others around you.

2. IS THAT REALISTIC?
Realistic behavior is practical and sensible. It helps you get what you want in a reasonable way.

3. IS IT RIGHT/LEGAL?
Living in a group and becoming social, laws was created to keep order, right and legal behavior is within the current enforceable laws or statutes. Choosing right/legal behaviors means not violating the laws you abide by.

"TO CHANGE YOU BEHAVIOR IS TO CHANGE YOUR LIFE, THE RIGHT THINKING BEFORE THE "DOING" IS THE MASTER KEY"
-Joshua Barbosa-

THE MASTER PLAN FOR AN EFFECTIVE CHANGE.
THE CASMIR STRATEGY.

The CASMIR strategy is a the master plan for any behavior change you are about to make, in fact, it consist of a six questions that you should ask yourself when you are about to conceived your plan.

If you have a complete control over and take responsibility to do it yourself without any help or relying on anybody to perform therefore you can not blame nobody but yourself for any possible failure.

It must be achievable, a pine on the sky plan is not going to work, a 1000 mile journey start with a only simple step!

Your plan must be attainable with your ability to do it successfully,Simplicity is the key, your plan have to be clear enough for a easy understanding, clear to the point.

Having a measurable outcome is crucial to your plan success, how exactly you are going to do it, know the legality of it, and anticipate for any glitches and have a enough flexibility to adjust.

Once you got this far, do not waste time thinking about it or dwelling about your plan, TAKE ACTION NOW!

Once you got the ball rolling, your plan must be repeatable, once you repeat over and over again, it will become a HABIT, ONCE BECOMES A HABIT YOU WILL CHANGE YOUR BEHAVIOR FOR GOOD!

BE BOLD, BE STRONG, FEEL THE FEAR, AND DO IT ANYWAY!
