Pistol Basic course FCT-1

 COURSE DESCRIPTION:

 Welcome to our comprehensive course on semi-automatic pistol handling and safety. This hands-on training program equips you with the correct mindset and essential knowledge and skills to safely handle, load, fire, and maintain most semi-automatic pistols. Whether you're a beginner or looking to meet the training requirements for concealed carry permits, this course provides a casual and stress-free environment for skill development. Please consult your local issuing agency for specific permit requirements.

 EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

No prior experience is necessary.

 COURSE OUTLINE:

 This course fulfills the Basic Firearms Safety Course requirements of the Massachusetts Department of State Police for obtaining a License to Carry (LTC). Here’s an overview of the topics covered:

 1. Responsible firearms ownership and handgun applications

2. Firearms safety for home, workplace, and vehicle

3. Safety practices during training and carrying firearms

4. Proper use and handling of firearms

5. Locking devices and techniques to prevent unauthorized access

6. Understanding potential dangers like penetration, ricochet, misidentification, accidental discharges, etc.

7. Ready positions for effective firearm use

8. Components and operation of modern pistols

9. Types, features, and purposes of contemporary ammunition

10. Applicable laws regarding possession, transportation, and storage of firearms

11. General guidelines for interstate travel with firearms

12. Administrative loading and unloading of pistols

13. Fundamentals of basic shooting techniques

14. Preventative maintenance, cleaning, inspection, and safe storage

15. Course duration: Classes starting at 8:30 am will run until 5:00 pm.

 EQUIPMENT LIST:

Please note that firearms and ammunition should not be brought to this course. Here's what you should wear and what will be provided:

 1. Attire:
Long pants with pockets, closed-toe shoes (no flip flops or sandals), crew neck (T-shirt) or button-up shirt (no low-cut necklines).

2. Provided equipment:
Firearms, holsters, safety glasses, and hearing protection will be available for loan.

Ammo is included

Please be aware of the class timings:
- Classes will start at 10 am and run until 4:00 pm.
This class is also taught in Portuguese and Spanish
