Introduction to Semi-Automatic Rifles

Welcome to our introductory level course on safely handling, loading, firing, and clearing common semi-automatic rifles. This comprehensive program combines classroom instruction and range practice to provide a comfortable learning environment for students. Whether you're new to rifles or looking to enhance your knowledge, this course offers a holistic approach to the world of rifles.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

No prior experience is necessary.

COURSE OUTLINE:

Upon completion of this course, students will gain the following skills and knowledge:

1. Safe gun handling practices, specifically for the AR platform.

2. Understanding of rifle parts, nomenclature, and considerations for support equipment.

3. Proper use and wearing of slings.

4. fundamentals of marksmanship.

5. Rifle manipulation skills, including loading, unloading, and clearing.

6. Analysis and application of the concept of height over bore (offset).

7. Proper execution of bolt lock reloads.

8. Shooting groups using the prone position.

9. Recognition and application of shooting techniques.

10. Disassembly, cleaning, and maintenance of modern sporting rifles.

EQUIPMENT LIST:

Please note that a semi-automatic carbine will be provided by Full Circle Tactical Training. Here's what you should bring:

1. 3 magazines (minimum).

2. Magazine pouches.

3. Footwear suitable for rapid movement and turning.

4. Clothing suitable for training in any weather.

5. Shooting gloves (optional based on student comfort).

6. Knee and elbow pads (optional based on student comfort).

7. Wraparound eyewear with polycarbonate lenses or non-shattering prescription.

8. Electronic hearing protection, earmuffs, or earplugs.

AMMO:

The estimated round count for this course is 300 rounds for the rifle. Please note the following guidelines for ammunition:

- Use lead core ammunition for shooting on steel targets.
